To be more competitive, to expand into new markets, and to improve customer service - businesses need to effectively extract, consolidate and analyze their business data in order to develop intelligent insights into their business. Thanks to the flexible and robust systems in today's corporate environments, there is no limit to the amount of data available to companies. The challenge is how best to combine all the data from all the diverse sources into a multi-dimensional "whole" and capitalize on it to drive the management insights and actionable information to improve decision making, and to achieve business goals. The answer to this challenge is a well thought-out, business intelligence (BI) solution geared towards spotting trends, penetrating new markets and enhancing customer relationships. The following diagram provides a high level overview of the different layers that comprise a typical enterprise-wide BI deployment architecture.

Nrit Scope/BI service offering, a BI Project Planning and ROI Assessment Service, can help you design a BI solution that will collect data from all the diverse sources in your organization (financial, sales, inventory) and transform it into valuable business information. It can also help justify or build a case for the BI initiative by providing an estimate of the ROI. Nrit Scope/BI is an unique assessment methodology used to identify key business drivers, evaluate technical and data architecture and understand organizational structure. The Nrit Scope/BI engagement concentrates on the following critical areas:
Requirements Definition - identifies all crucial facets of your BI vision and strategy including the critical success factors and business drivers.
Data Source Assessmentv - identifies the data sources needed to support the requirements identified above.
Technical Gap Analysis - compares your BI requirements with your current IT environment and data sources.
BI Tools and Database Evaluation - selects the best-practice analytic tool(s) based on your requirements and IT infrastructure.
ETL Analysis - determines and documents data movement processes based on the requirements identified and BI tools recommended in preceding steps.
Solution Design - we design and recommend the best solution for your organization, based on the previous steps outlined above.
Business Policy/Process Impact Assessment - we review your current business processes and assess how they will be affected by any new functionality or architectural changes that are a part of the proposed solution.

"This multi-step assessment process is designed to provide you with our specialists' evaluation of your current systems and processes, and to assist in identifying the level of effort that will be required for the proposed BI solution. A detailed analysis in each of these areas will be required during the actual implementation project itself."
Our assessment ensures you have everything in place to support a successful BI solution. An assessment offering anything less puts your enterprise at risk. Upon completion of the assessment, all findings are consolidated into a comprehensive Nrit Scope/BI Road Map report. The BI Road Map will provide you with a high-level project plan that includes cost estimates, timelines, resource requirements and team profiles. This will enable you to proceed with confidence whether you choose to take advantage of our considerable expertise, use another company, or even decide to go it alone.
Caveat: Throughout the Nrit Scope/BI engagement, we conduct structured interviews of key individuals who have responsibility for, and will be impacted by, the BI solution. We must have access to your senior management when we need them, to ensure success of the Nrit Scope/BI project engagement.
Without a good roadmap, a BI solution frequently takes too long, costs too much and, when completed, is way off strategy. Our Nrit Scope/BI Road Map includes the following to ensure that you take the shortest, most cost-effective path to a BI solution for your enterprise
High-level Project Plan - with cost estimates, timelines, resource requirements and team profiles.
Proposed BI Solution - Designed to minimize disruptions and protect the integrity of your data, including BI packaged tool recommendation(s) and customization plan based on the Gap Analysis performed during the project engagement.
Resource Estimate - Addresses the project timing and level of effort needed, including testing and training strategies, and provides the preliminary implementation pricing.
The BI market is being inundated with "packaged" approaches, combining data acquisition, a data model and the means for data access in one tidy package. But will the alterations cost more than the suit? .and just what will those alterations be? Nrit Scope/BI enables you to see your enterprise more clearly than ever, based on a written report on our comprehensive assessment of your business plan, processes, people and reporting requirements. Nrit Scope/BI will empower you to understand the tradeoffs and give you the TCO:

As an idea, or rather as a buzz word, big data subsumes many other topics, such as business analysis, data analysis, business intelligence, data intelligence, even that most general of all words, information management.
However, for the first time, big data is not only the corporate and more formal business data farms, but also deals with all those informal sources and unstructured data which flood us daily, in the social media, as images, as emails, as videos, as tweets, what`s app messages, sensor messages, and in many other forms. This is both exciting and a challenge.
People currently assume that the proportion between data in RDBM systems and unstructured data in the big organizations is about 50:50, but unstructured data are increasing exponentially. This presents challenges and new opportunities.
- In the education and training field, we shall push to provide several ibae (see http://www.ibae.ch curricula) advanced level options, including more technical ones, and at least one so specialised that participants will be able to call themselves "data scientists". In business, we need to be even more agile, more communicative, and link our intuitions, insights and findings to great visualization, for even better support of the decisions which will be taken by our stakeholders. The real of prospective / imagined customer story will become even more important for the formulation of requirements. - New customer segments will emerge. Tranditionally, the financial services have absorbed the majority of Business analysts. Some found employment in the life sciences. Some in intelligence and security. Fewer still, in production or the public services. This will change, and industry and public services (especially the emerging smart environments of mega cities and similar scenarios) will develop a great appetite for people with business analysis skills and some knowledge of stakeholder management.
- Finally, the most dramatic change will occur in the focus of Business Analysis. A lot of the work in the future will be looking inward, at the organization, its efficiencies and results, its processes and strategies. Change is now so rapid that organizations will only survive if they use all the structured and unstructured data at their disposal in order to re-position themselves radically and continuously, in order to satisfy the exacting requirements of their ever more damanding global customers. From now on, the refresh rate of the corporate dashboard will tend to be more and more instantaneous, and not at the rate of a few days or even months as hitherto.
